Mother's Rose - A Mindful Understanding
Mother’s Rose… Can we see the beauty of this amazing flower or are we hindered because we cannot see a vibrant red, a delicate white, a powerful yellow, or perhaps it has been kissed by dye in the water and is multicolored. Would our feelings change based on the colors we see, would it be as beautiful; or would we be disappointed if it were not our “favorite” or expected color; would we ever even take the time to “stop and see the roses”.
What happens when we take the color and pre-conceived emotions out of what we are seeing? I personally see shades of white and grey and black and all the beautiful detail. I am not hindered because I cannot see the color, but rather am intrigued to look closer, to learn more, to see the beautiful details without the interference of the overpowering color which immediately forms my feelings. I am left to a Mindful Understanding of exactly what I see before me, nothing more; nothing less.
You see, I do have preconceived emotions for a red rose of passion, a delicate white rose of love, a powerful yellow rose of remembrance, or a multicolored rose of whimsical fun. Whether I intend to or not, my feelings have been set in my understanding of these colors. I have to look deeper and be mindful to understand and see a flower in all its shaded glory and beauty.
I also have to remember Mindful Understanding when meeting people and experiencing new things; to be mindful of the glory within every person and every situation. Maybe I need to take out the color, take away my own predisposed opinions and feelings until seeing the shaded beautiful details becomes my natural instinct to Mindful Understanding. Take time to see the roses in all their shaded glory in every moment we have.
